Issues in database management of multimedia information

In this paper we discuss the current-state-of-the art issues in multimedia database management systems. The most important aspect of data management i s the semantic modeling and indexing of multimedia information. W e discuss various schemes to represen2 temporal synchronization requirements and highlight current research challenges facing the multimedia database community.
